Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Quest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Tohump (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny Quest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Tohump!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tohump scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Quest tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tohump swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Quest fails with the takedown.
Quest throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tohump closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tohump lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Quest down.
Tohump throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Quest works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Tohump is just content to waste time from the top position. Quest takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Quest wants to sweep here but Tohump controlling him for the moment.
Tohump really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quest. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tohump wants to control from the top but Quest keeps moving.
Tohump must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Quest is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tohump lands a couple of elbows.

Quest has his foot on Tohump's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tohump works his way back into a safe position though.

Tohump postures up in Quest's guard and throws a big left but Quest blocks it.

Quest wants to sweep but no luck.
Tohump loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tohump wanted to stand there but Quest had control of the position.
Tohump is looking to work some ground and pound but Quest has wrist control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Quest lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Quest.
Quest fails with an attempt to clinch.

Quest drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Quest is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tohump is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Tohump is trying to get back to his feet.
Quest trying to control the action but Tohump is working from the bottom.
Tohump is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Quest asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Quest slows the pace down.
Tohump is pushing Quest's head away, looking to escape. Quest manages to hold on to the position though.
Quest scores with punches from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Tohump wants to get back to his feet.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tohump can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tohump is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Quest wants to control but Tohump is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Quest gets caught flat footed, as Tohump shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Quest keeping moving, preventing Tohump from controlling successfully.
Quest is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Tohump is staying active underneath Quest, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tohump pushes Quest off and gets back to his feet.

Quest moves into the clinch.
Quest holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Tohump gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Quest.

Tohump bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Quest manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Quest is not content to let Tohump control the position.
Quest misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Quest looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Quest is trying to stand up here but Tohump is controlling him well.

Quest looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tohump is one step ahead there.

Tohump wants to stand but Quest has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Ivan Tohump has got the better of the ground game so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Quest holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Tohump changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Quest fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Quest looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tohump feints and as Quest raises his hands in defense, Tohump changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tohump stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Quest swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tohump throws a strike but Quest rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Quest trying to control but Tohump is working from the bottom.
Quest pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tohump is keeping the position for now.
Quest wants to control from the top but Tohump keeps moving.

Tohump manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Tohump tries to clinch but Quest is having none of it.

Tohump is nestled in close to Quest, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Quest is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tohump defends well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ivan Tohump showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Tohump feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Tohump throws and elbow that misses. Quest uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Tohump's guard. Nice move by Quest!
Tohump wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Quest manages to pass to side control.
Quest is keen to just control but Tohump is a slippery customer.

Tohump has one foot on Quest's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Quest misses with a looping right.
Quest takes one to the side of the head.
Ivan Tohump seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tohump shoots in for a double leg but Quest sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tohump takes one on the button.
Tohump tries for a takedown but Quest sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Quest throws a body punch but Tohump moves out of range.
Tohump takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Quest counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Quest.
Johnny Quest has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Tohump.

Quest pulls guard effortlessly.

Quest looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Quest looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tohump is one step ahead there.

Quest has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tohump can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tohump stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Quest has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Tohump manages to get his head free but now Quest has transitioned to an armbar! Tohump grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Quest! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
