Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dave Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chong Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Li's choice of entrance music: Summer Song. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis shoots in but Li avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Davis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Li is fending him off so far but Davis persists. Nope, Li circles away and we're back to standing.

Davis gets a takedown into half guard.
Davis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Li knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Davis is looking for a kimura here.
Davis works his foot free and advances to mount.
Davis looking to ground and pound but Li is blocking nicely.

Davis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Davis tries to control but Li wriggling away.
Li wants to hold on but Davis pushes him away.

Davis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Li is looking to escape.

Davis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Li is on top in guard.

Davis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Li's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Davis seems to be looking for submissions.
Davis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Li does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Davis is just content to waste time from the top position. Li takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Li looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Li is refusing to be controlled, as Davis sits in half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Davis is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Li doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Davis.
Li really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Davis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Davis wants to control but Li is keeping him busy.

Davis connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Li some visible discomfort.

Davis moves in looking to clinch but Li pushes him off.
Li lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Li fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Davis sprawls well initially but Li persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Oh but Davis is tightening it up a little... Li has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Li reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Li taps out! nice BJJ there by Davis!
