The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Runqvist shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
SIka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Paha SIka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Runqvist takes a head kick and keeps coming.
SIka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Runqvist.
Paha SIka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Palle Runqvist.
SIka buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Runqvist is still on wobbly legs! Can SIka finish him?
SIka feints and then cracks Runqvist's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Runqvist down.
SIka lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Runqvist seems to have recovered his senses.
SIka thuds his right hand into Runqvist's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Runqvist gets cracked with a nice right hand there by SIka.

SIka ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
SIka lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
SIka punishes Runqvist's body with a nice straight punch.

Runqvist tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but SIka swivels and escapes.

SIka lands a really nice looking cross but Runqvist seems unphased.

Runqvist's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

SIka comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
SIka connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Runqvist momentarily.
SIka delivers a nice body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

SIka scores with a kick to the midsection.
SIka is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
SIka lands with a kick to the temple. Runqvist shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

SIka throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Runqvist on the side of the head.
SIka is working the combinations to good effect here.
SIka leaves Runqvist with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
SIka catches Runqvist with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

SIka scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paha SIka dominated that round.

SIka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Runqvist.
Runqvist is trying desperately to land a takedown but SIka is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Runqvist.
SIka lands a high kick!
SIka connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Runqvist! He's out on his feet! SIka rushes in and drops Runqvist with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
