Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Hylox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hylox tries to avoid it but Cortez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hylox to the ground. Hylox escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cortez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hylox has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cortez gets back to half guard.

Tyson Hylox overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hylox wants to free his trapped foot but Cortez is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Well Cortez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
