Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alvin Stardust!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, kenny davies!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
davies shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stardust but Stardust pushes him off and we're back to square one.
davies shoots in but Stardust avoids the takedown attempt easily.
davies throws a sloppy head kick and Stardust moves out of range easily.

davies gets a clinch.
davies lands a shot to the body.
davies tries to break free but Stardust pushes him back against the cage.
davies looking to stall.

Stardust has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but davies regains guard immediately.

davies looking for subs off his back but Stardust has passed one foot through into half guard.

davies is trying to control but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
davies is trying to stand up here but Stardust is controlling him well.
davies tries to get to full guard but Stardust has control of the leg.
davies is looking to control Stardust's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can davies avoid being mounted?
davies tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
davies throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stardust's waist but Stardust gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing davies off to one side.
Alvin Stardust has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of kenny davies.
davies tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stardust paws at him with a jab and circles away.

davies feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stardust is breathing heavily.

davies is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
davies passes Stardust's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Stardust blocking the ground and pound attempt from davies.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Stardust is refusing to be controlled, as davies sits in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but kenny davies will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


davies lands a jab.
davies tries for a takedown but Stardust sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Stardust has his takedown stuffed
and davies counters with a head kick.
davies doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Stardust counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Stardust has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stardust prevents davies from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
davies is trying to control the position but Stardust postures up.
davies lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stardust!
davies working away from the top, dropping strikes.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
davies lands with some strikes.
davies breaks from Stardust's wrist control and lands an elbow.

davies working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

davies is going olschool here, as he tries to force Stardust to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Stardust shrugs it off.

davies trying to control but he's not successful this time.
davies lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
davies looking to control but Stardust is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
davies controlling the position easily from mount.
davies lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

kenny davies showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


davies with a poor takedown

and Stardust decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in davies's guard.

davies looking for a guillotine here but Stardust defends easily.
davies is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Stardust drops back, looking for a kneebar! davies looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. davies looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from davies!

davies thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Stardust knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for davies on the ground.
davies trying to control the position but Stardust is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

davies decides to stand back up.
Nice body kick from davies.
davies tries to clinch up but Stardust circles away and keeps his distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
davies doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Stardust counters with a shoot takedown. davies fights it but they end up in guard.

Stardust got a little sloppy there for a moment and davies has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stardust has managed to get both his arms back between davies's legs - danger averted.
Stardust trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
davies has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

davies looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Stardust postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! davies is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stardust, into his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alvin Stardust showed his dominance in that final round.
I think davies has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
