Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between King Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gunnar Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gunnar Owens has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, King Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gunnar Owens!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Owens duly obliges.

Owens shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Owens showed some decent athleticism there.
Johnson regains full guard. Nicely done.
Johnson controls Owens momentarily but Owens frees himself.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Owens from controlling successfully.
Owens looking to pass the guard.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Owens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Owens defends it easily.
Owens wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Johnson is working an open guard so Owens takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Johnson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Johnson is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Owens jumps into side control!

Owens decides to stand up, so the ref orders Johnson to his feet.

Gunnar Owens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Owens is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Owens throws a quick inside leg kick.
Owens stalks Johnson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnson's face. Johnson staggers backwards, shaken.

Owens has closed the distance and engaged Johnson in a clinch.
Owens is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Johnson has a closed guard, preventing Owens from standing up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johnson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Owens escapes and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Owens is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Johnson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Owens throws a series of strikes that have Johnson backpedaling.

Owens decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Owens lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Owens throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Owens looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Johnson!

Owens throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Johnson is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Owens trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom.

Owens tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.

Owens stands up and beckons Johnson to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Owens working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Johnson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Owens is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Gunnar Owens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Johnson.
No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.
Owens lands a two punch combo.
Johnson slips a jab and a cross from Owens.
Gunnar Owens is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No joy there for Owens, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Owens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Johnson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Owens fails to land with a series of punches.
Owens closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Owens swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Owens moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Owens wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.
Johnson is looking for a sweep. Owens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Owens is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Johnson has managed to free his arm - good work.

Owens stands up out of the half guard.
Owens smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Owens shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Owens stands up from Johnson's guard - Owens perhaps looking for a knockout.
Johnson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Owens.
King Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Owens throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Owens shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Owens thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Johnson lands some strikes from the bottom.

Johnson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Owens has picked Johnson up and slammed him! Johnson can't keep hold of the triangle and Owens manages to pass to side control!
Johnson looks to move to half guard but instead Owens has passed into mount! Damn!
Johnson is desperately trying to improve his position but Owens has a good base and remains in mount.

Owens has control of Johnson's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gunnar Owens is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Owens landing strikes from the mount.
Owens controlling the pace for now.

Gunnar Owens comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Owens has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
