PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Katarushi Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamil P (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). P has chosen DMX-INTRO as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Katarushi Li has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Katarushi Li seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kamil P!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li throws a combination but it was largely blocked by P.
Li shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts P as he jumps to the side.

P drives through with a takedown into guard.
P postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
P trying to control the position from guard on top but Li is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
P must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
P controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
P throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Li works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
P is trying to keep Li in close.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
P lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Li wants to control from the top but P keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

P wants to control from the top but Li keeps moving.
Li throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Li is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Li thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Li wants to stand up but P manages to regain full guard.

P has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Li can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
P is breathing heavily.

Li wants to control from the top but P keeps moving.
P keeping full guard, as Li tries to pass.
Li slips nicely into half guard.

Li decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
P avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Li shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Li throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around P's waist but P gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Li off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Katarushi Li. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Li throws a push kick but P slaps the foot to one side.
Li tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but P swivels and escapes.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

P wants to control from the top but Li keeps moving.
Li controls P momentarily but P frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kamil P showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Li shoots in looking for a takedown. P tries to sprawl out of it but Li keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. P manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
P shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Li as he avoids it easily.

P looking to control but instead Li has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
P seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Li moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
P throwing strikes from guard but Li blocks nicely.

Li has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but P can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Li has his feet on P's thighs here. He's pushed P off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! P screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
