Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smith Wesson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Iser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Smith Wesson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Seth Iser!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wesson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Iser moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Smith Wesson has been cut.
Wesson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Seth Iser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Iser swats away the attempt to clinch by Wesson.
Iser wants to clinch but Wesson slips to the side

and Wesson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Iser!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Iser throwing hammer fists to the chest of Wesson. What's that going to do exactly?

Wesson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Iser can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Iser keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wesson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Iser because Wesson loaded up on that one.
Wesson avoids the attempt from Iser to control.

Wesson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Iser's face.

Wesson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Wesson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wesson throwing strikes here but Iser is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Iser can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wesson is looking to work his way around to Iser's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

BOOM! Wesson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wesson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Iser to take his back!
Iser is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Iser just trying to survive but Wesson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Iser is trying to stand back up.

Wesson struggling to keep hold of the position.
Wesson thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Wesson is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Wesson is breathing heavily.

Iser is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Wesson gets his way!
Iser tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Iser is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Wesson has taken his back.
Iser has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Wesson is striking from the back but Iser escapes and manages to recover to half guard.

Wesson decides to stand up.
Wesson on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Iser instigates a clinch.
Stalling in the clinch from Wesson.
Wesson is working for takedown but Iser is calmly controlling the position for now.
Wesson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Iser pulls his leg out and moves away.

Iser looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Iser wants to stand but Wesson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Wesson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Iser really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wesson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wesson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Wesson with a poor takedown

and Iser counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Iser.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smith Wesson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wesson pulls Iser in close to prevent any damage.

Iser controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Wesson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Iser doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Iser manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Wesson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Iser puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Iser looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wesson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Iser is nestled in close to Wesson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Iser tries to stand and escape but Wesson is controlling the position.
Wesson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Iser working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Wesson's head.

Iser controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Iser got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wesson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Iser has managed to get both his arms back between Wesson's legs - danger averted.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wesson holds on and takes a little breather.

Wesson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Iser is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wesson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Iser's back instead.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seth Iser showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Wesson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smith Wesson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Iser shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Wesson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wesson.
Iser is looking to stand up but Wesson isn't so interested in that idea.
Wesson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Iser swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Wesson gets to his feet - Iser follows without any prompting.

Wesson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Iser is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wesson asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Wesson decides to stand back up. Wesson steps back and let's Iser get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wesson closes the distance and clinches up with Iser, looking for a takedown. Wesson pushes Iser against the cage but Iser circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Iser fails to land with a series of punches.

Wesson clinches.

Wesson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Iser, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Wesson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Iser is trying to stand back up but Wesson is controlling him
Wesson slips a nice elbow through Iser's hands, connecting with Iser's forehead.
Iser is in trouble now - Wesson has advanced to mount!
Iser wants to get back to his feet.
Wesson controlling the position easily from mount.

Wesson breaks from Iser's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Iser tries to lock up and control but Wesson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

BOOM! Wesson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Wesson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Iser's face.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A nice elbow there by Wesson.

Wesson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Iser is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Smith Wesson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Wesson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
