Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bad Sam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Sarbinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bad Sam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yuri Sarbinov!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sam shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sarbinov pinned against the cage. Sarbinov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sarbinov misses with a series of wild punches.
Sam throws a series of punches but Sarbinov moves out of range.

Sarbinov shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sarbinov showed some decent athleticism there.
Sam is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sam is trying to control but can't.
Sarbinov is pressing down on Sam's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sam is holding on for now.
Sam wants to control but Sarbinov is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sarbinov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Sarbinov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sam with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sarbinov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Sarbinov trying to mount his opponent but Sam defends it.
Sarbinov passes the guard and advances to mount!
Sarbinov avoids the attempt from Sam to control.
Sarbinov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sam is looking to escape.

Sam is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
A nice elbow there by Sarbinov.
Sarbinov lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Sam tries to lock up and control but Sarbinov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sarbinov tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Sarbinov looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Sam is squirming around, avoiding Sarbinov's attempts to control the action.

Sam is trying to escape the mount.
Sam tries to lock up and control but Sarbinov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sarbinov controlling the pace for now.
Sam tries to reverse the position but Sarbinov maintains control.

Sam takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Sarbinov avoids the attempt from Sam to control.
Sam really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Sam is working hard here to advance position.
Sarbinov tries to control but Sam wriggling away.
Sarbinov pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yuri Sarbinov dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sam thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sarbinov is on top in guard.
Sam preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sarbinov trying to control but Sam is working from the bottom.
Sam controls Sarbinov momentarily but Sarbinov frees himself.
Sarbinov lands a couple of digs.

Sam is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sam keeping full guard, as Sarbinov tries to pass.
Sarbinov sitting in guard here, content to control.

Sam escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sarbinov gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sam is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sarbinov is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sam has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sarbinov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Sam.
Sarbinov lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Sam on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Sam is trying to control Sarbinov's posture but Sarbinov avoids it.

Sam manages to get back to half guard.
Sam tries to get to full guard but Sarbinov has control of the leg.

Sarbinov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Sam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sarbinov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sam is tightening it up a little... Sarbinov has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sarbinov reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sarbinov taps out! nice BJJ there by Sam!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Bad Sam!
