The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soares misses with a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Soares looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rafael Soares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Soares tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Drake paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Drake shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Soares sprawls well. Soares wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Drake gets slowly back to his feet.

Drake had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Soares is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Drake Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Soares's back instead.
