PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carl Sagan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Swearingen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sagan comes into the arena with Conquest of Paradise - Vangelis blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Sagan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie Swearingen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Sagan darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Charlie Swearingen has been cut.
Sagan misses with a wild combination.
Swearingen looks to throw the jab but Sagan is out of range.
Charlie Swearingen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Swearingen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Swearingen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Sagan as Swearingen shoots in.
Swearingen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sagan but Sagan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Carl Sagan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Swearingen.
Swearingen checks a low kick from Sagan.
Swearingen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sagan tries to avoid it but Swearingen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sagan to the ground. Sagan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sagan lands a big head kick that sends Swearingen tumbling to the mat! Sagan takes a step backwards and waves Swearingen back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Swearingen is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sagan misses with a series of wild punches.
Swearingen is still on wobbly legs! Can Sagan finish him?
Sagan slaps away a takedown attempt from Swearingen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Swearingen seems to have recovered his senses.
BOOM! Sagan lands a beautiful left hook that drops Swearingen. Swearingen tries to recover but Sagan is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Swearingen lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
