The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barhydt tries to move into range but John moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
John misses with a series of wild punches.
Barhydt wants to clinch.
John works over Barhydt's head and body with a nice combination.

It looks like John Barhydt has been cut.

John lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barhydt circles away quickly and effectively.
John lands with a nice combination. Barhydt backs away looking to recover.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
John fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Barhydt manages to avoid it.
Barhydt doesn't manage to clinch there - John circles away.
Barhydt wants to clinch up but John keeps it at a distance.
John misses with a few strikes there.
Barhydt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but John swivels and escapes.
John scores with a one two! Barhydt had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
John stuffs the takedown attempt from Barhydt. Barhydt gets slowly back to his feet.
Barhydt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

John throws a series of punches but Barhydt avoids them all with ease.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
