Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Lach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Klinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Lach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Klinger! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klinger throws a series of punches but Lach avoids them all with ease. Lach scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Lach working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Klinger tries to bench press Lach off him but Lach keeps the position. Klinger trying to remain calm as Lach controls from the top position. Lach tries for a kimura but Klinger is defending well. Lach tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Klinger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lach wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lach decides to take the fight back to the feet. James Klinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lach shoots in and drives through. Klinger sprawls well. Klinger misses with a takedown and Lach counters with a takedown into side control. A bit of a lull in the action here. Klinger is trying to control Lach's posture but Lach avoids it. Lach is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Klinger has escaped the position, nice work there. Lach is breathing heavily. Klinger tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lach wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Lach decides to stand up, so the ref orders Klinger to his feet. Klinger comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Klinger misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Lach passes to full mount! Lach working for a submission but Klinger is keeping him at bay. Klinger wants to hold on but Lach pushes him away. Klinger has given up his back.

Klinger tries to escape but Lach has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Klinger showing good submission defense here.
Lach has the hooks in. Klinger is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Klinger preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Lach. Lach controlling well, preventing Klinger from escaping the position.

Klinger darts in and clinches Lach up against the cage. Klinger is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Klinger stops a takedown attempt from Lach.

Lach stands and steps away. Klinger gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Klinger misses with a takedown and Lach counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Klinger! Lach scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lach can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Klinger is looking to escape. Lach looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Klinger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lach throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Lach working for a guillotine from mount but Klinger is in no mood to give up. Klinger squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Lach is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Klinger has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Lach working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Lach wants to finish this one by submission but Klinger is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lach is going olschool here, as he tries to force Klinger to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Klinger shrugs it off. Lach can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Klinger is looking to escape. Lach looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Klinger tries to lock up and control but Lach gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lach throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Klinger because Lach loaded up on that one. Klinger wants to control but Lach is having none of it. Klinger bucks up and throws Lach to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape! Klinger explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Klinger fails with an attempt to clinch.
Klinger moves into the clinch. Klinger wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lach throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lach trying to control the position from guard on top but Klinger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Lach decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Klinger, up you get! Jerry Lach is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Klinger with a poor takedown and Lach counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jerry Lach has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Klinger. Klinger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lach is trying to work for a kimura but Klinger is defending well.

Jerry Lach dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Klinger fails with an attempt to clinch.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Klinger looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Lach! Submission of the night perhaps?
