Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Dai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Daytona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dai comes to the cage accompanied by Awakening the Chaos. Mark Dai has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Dai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fred Daytona!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daytona drives through and clinches with Dai against the cage.

Dai ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Dai no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Daytona trying to control the position from guard on top but Dai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Daytona drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Dai manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Daytona has Dai in his guard.
Daytona wants to sweep but no luck.
Dai advances position into side control!

Dai looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Dai is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Daytona has escaped the position, nice work there.

Dai working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Daytona gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dai is thwarting Daytona's attempts to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daytona controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Daytona tries to get to full guard but Dai has control of the leg.
Daytona wants to control but Dai is keeping busy.

Dai is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Daytona sees it coming and defends easily.

Dai is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Daytona has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dai wants to pass the guard but Daytona is defending well.

Dai is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Daytona shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dai pinned against the cage. Dai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Daytona shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Daytona showed some decent athleticism there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Daytona is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Daytona is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dai sees it coming and defends easily.
Dai is trying to get back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Daytona throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Dai keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Dai looking for submissions off his back.
Dai trying to hold on to Daytona's head to control him but Daytona postures up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Daytona is looking for a kimura here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dai drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Dai dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Daytona misses with a body kick.

Dai closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dai stops Daytona from getting back to his feet.

Dai is working for a submission of some sort.
Daytona has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dai is working away from the top position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Dai seems to be working for a kimura but Daytona defends the submission attempt.

Dai is working for a kimura but Daytona is defending it quite comfortably.
Daytona is trying to get back to full guard.
Daytona wants to control but Dai is keeping busy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dai doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Daytona counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Dai looking for a triangle here. Daytona is fighting it but it looks tight! Dai pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Daytona is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Mark Dai!
