Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kaylan Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Machin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heath comes into the arena with Showdown - Black Eyed Peas blaring out of the sound system. Liam Machin is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kaylan Heath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liam Machin!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heath avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Machin has a takedown stuffed.

Heath has taken the fight to the clinch.

Heath manages to pull guard.
Machin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Heath is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Machin defends well.

Machin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Heath working for a triangle but Machin defends it easily.
Machin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Heath escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Machin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Heath is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Machin is aware though and is defending well.

Machin gets to his feet. Heath looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Machin tries to stand but Heath is controlling from the bottom.

Heath has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Machin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Machin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Heath has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Machin has managed to get both his arms back between Heath's legs - danger averted.
Machin wants to control from the top but Heath keeps moving.
Machin is looking to work some ground and pound but Heath has wrist control.

Heath isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Machin stacks Heath on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Machin!

Machin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Heath keeps working.

and Heath holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Heath jumps into guard, dragging Machin to the mat.

Machin is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Heath lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Machin!
Machin flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Machin is trying desperately to improve position.
Heath scoring with strikes but Machin is staying in there.

Heath jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Machin manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Machin is looking for a sweep.

Heath goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Machin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Heath but great work by Machin.

Machin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Machin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Heath manages to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Machin looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Heath moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Liam Machin will probably get the nod.

Heath is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Machin pulls his head out easily.

Machin is looking for a kimura but Heath is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Machin to get the leverage.
Machin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Heath's head.
Machin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Heath is defended easily by Machin.

Heath shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Machin is trying to defend but Heath finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Heath is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Machin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Heath.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kaylan Heath will probably get the nod.
That's time! Heath's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Heath drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Machin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Heath has Machin in his guard.

Machin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Machin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Machin decides to return to a standing position.

Heath keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Heath darts in and clinches Machin up against the cage.

Liam Machin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
