PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Tessio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ned Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins shoots in and drives through. Tessio sprawls well.
A decent looking cross lands there for Jenkins.
Tessio looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jenkins is fending him off so far but Tessio persists. Nope, Jenkins circles away and we're back to standing.
Tessio throws a push kick but Jenkins slaps the foot to one side.
Tessio shoots in but no luck this time.
Tessio throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jenkins.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jenkins lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Tessio at a distance.
Tessio lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Tessio shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jenkins as he avoids it easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tessio shoots for a double leg takedown but Jenkins sprawls well. He's pushed Tessio's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tessio stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jenkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jenkins's corner calls for a 1-2. Jenkins obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Jenkins lands with a hook. Tessio tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Tessio tries for a takedown but Jenkins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jenkins fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tessio looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Tessio shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jenkins but Jenkins pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tessio tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mike Tessio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tessio throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jenkins's waist but Jenkins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tessio off to one side.

Tessio drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tessio jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tessio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jenkins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tessio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jenkins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jenkins is working Tessio over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Tessio is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jenkins lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Tessio has his foot on Jenkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jenkins works his way back into a safe position though.

Tessio has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jenkins should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Tessio has tightened it up now! Jenkins should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
