PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Tony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Smack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tony throws out a loose jab but Smack uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smack takes one on the button.

It looks like Jason Smack has been cut.

Smack scores with a takedown into Tony's guard.
Smack stops Tony from standing up.
Tony knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smack on the ground.
Smack makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Tony wants to get back to his feet but Smack is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Smack lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Smack takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Smack tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tony swivels and escapes.
Tony lands the left hand.
Smack shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Tony sprawls well. Tony wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smack gets slowly back to his feet.

Smack closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Tony wants to get back to his feet.

Smack shoots in and drives through. Tony sprawls well.
James Tony has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Smack.

Tony thuds a left hand into Smack's body.
Tony throws a series of punches but Smack moves out of range.
Tony looks to land a combination. Smack sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smack misses with a takedown attempt - Tony sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tony lands a really nice looking cross but Smack seems unphased.
Smack walks into a stiff left hand from Tony.
James Tony is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smack drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Tony lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Tony throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smack stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Smack has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tony finds it's way round the side to connect with Smack's head.
Smack takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Smack takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Tony scores with a jab. Smack acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Tony punishes Smack's body with a nice straight punch.
Tony drops Smack with a huge uppercut! Smack drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Tony is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
