The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kozlov was covering up waiting for the punch and Jones finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Jones prevents Kozlov from getting back to his feet.
Jones lands a couple of digs.
Kozlov is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Kozlov is keeping the position.
Kozlov is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Kozlov is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones lands a couple of elbows.
Kozlov is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Kozlov has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Kozlov's head.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Kozlov is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Kozlov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Jones throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The referee warns Kozlov that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kozlov is trying to escape the mount.
Kozlov's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Jones cracks Kozlov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
