Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adam Bomb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cheick Kongo!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bomb gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Bomb gets underhooks to prevent Kongo's takedown attempt.
Kongo takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Cheick Kongo has been cut.
Bomb has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kongo uses from the top position.
Kongo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kongo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bomb utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kongo throws and elbow that misses. Bomb uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kongo's guard. Nice move by Bomb!
Bomb avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bomb slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kongo trying to keep a closed guard but Bomb is proving a slippery customer.
Kongo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bomb stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kongo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kongo uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Kongo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bomb lands a big head kick that sends Kongo tumbling to the mat! Bomb takes a step backwards and waves Kongo back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Kongo is rocked!
Bomb closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kongo is still on wobbly legs! Can Bomb finish him?
Bomb pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Kongo! Bomb unloads with more strikes and Kongo sinks to his knees! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam Bomb!
