The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waithaka shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jay pinned against the cage. Jay gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Waithaka.
Jay fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Jay cracks Waithaka with a right hand to the side of the head.
Jay cracks Waithaka with a right hand to the side of the head.
Jay swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Waithaka.
Waithaka on the wrong end of a nice hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Waithaka shoots in for a takedown but Jay shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Waithaka looks gassed!
Waithaka tries to clinch but Jay moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Waithaka looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jay closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Waithaka tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Jay paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jay lands with a shot to the body.
Jay scores with a jab to the head.
Jay lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Waithaka is rocked!

Jay sends Waithaka crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Jay is motioning to the referee to let Waithaka up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Waithaka is still on wobbly legs! Can Jay finish him?
Waithaka is holding his hands too far apart here. Jay throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Waithaka is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
