Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marley McSlipster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Piun Khoi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khoi tries to clinch there but McSlipster circles away.
McSlipster moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Piun Khoi has been cut.
Khoi bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
McSlipster keeps the fight on the outside.
McSlipster pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Khoi tries to close the distance and clinch but McSlipster swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
McSlipster throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

McSlipster looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Khoi wants to stand and escape but McSlipster is having none of it.
McSlipster trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

McSlipster drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McSlipster jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Khoi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McSlipster doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McSlipster manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Khoi controls McSlipster momentarily but McSlipster frees himself.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Khoi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Khoi tries to clinch but McSlipster moves out of range.
McSlipster throws out a loose jab but Khoi uses good head movement to avoid it.
McSlipster pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Khoi stuffs the takedown attempt from McSlipster. McSlipster gets slowly back to his feet.
McSlipster circles away from the clinch attempt.

McSlipster bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

McSlipster tries for a kimura but Khoi is defending well.
Khoi can't do much from the bottom here.
McSlipster postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McSlipster thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Khoi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Khoi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McSlipster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Khoi is refusing to be controlled, as McSlipster sits in half guard.
Khoi pushes McSlipster off looking to stand but McSlipster dives back in and keeps control.

McSlipster is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Khoi sees it coming and defends easily.

Khoi looks like he's trying to stand up.

Khoi wants to improve his position but McSlipster is controlling well.

McSlipster is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Khoi has managed to free his arm - good work.
Khoi trying to control but McSlipster postures up.
McSlipster thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Khoi's head.
Khoi wants to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Khoi tries to clinch up.

McSlipster closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McSlipster lands in his opponent's guard.
McSlipster tries to free his leg and advance position but Khoi is retaining full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

McSlipster drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. McSlipster seems to have locked his on tight now - Khoi screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for McSlipster, as he picks up the win!
