Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Entra Ryu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henrique Paiva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henrique Paiva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Emerson Jorge.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Paiva.

Ryu shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Paiva napping and manages to drive through into side control!

I looks like Paiva might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Paiva's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Paiva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Ryu counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Paiva's guard now.

Ryu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Paiva on the ground.

Ryu walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Paiva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Ryu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
