Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tony Sparks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Turk!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparks misses with a hook. Turk ducked under it nicely.
Sparks ducks under a wild hook from Turk.
Sparks looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A jab from Turk misses.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Sparks looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Turk displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sparks throws out the jab.
Turk looks to score with a jab to the body but Sparks is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sparks drops Turk with a left right combo! Sparks follows him down to the ground into side control.


It looks like Chris Turk has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Turk is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sparks is controlling him well.
Sparks in side control, throwing shots but Turk defends.
The ground and pound from Sparks seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Sparks creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Turk sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Sparks is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Turk scores with a hook.
Turk swings for the body but Sparks moves out of range.
Turk misses with a body shot.
Turk cracks Sparks with a right hand to the side of the head.
Sparks misses with a two punch combination.
Sparks lunges at Turk with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Turk's hand.
Chris Turk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sparks looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Turk is fending him off so far but Sparks persists. Nope, Turk circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Turk lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sparks looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sparks fails to land with a series of punches.
Jab, jab by Sparks - just one landing.
Sparks takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Sparks throws out a leg kick but Turk moves out of range and Sparks only half commits.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sparks slips under a jab from Turk.
Sparks takes a swing at Turk's ribcage but misses.
Sparks walks into a stiff left hand from Turk.
Sparks lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Turk ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sparks moves away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turk connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Turk throws a looping overhand right but Sparks ducks down to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Sparks dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Chris Turk's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Sparks fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Sparks showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Turk.
Horrible takedown by Sparks or perhaps it was just good defense by Turk which made him look bad.
Turk lunges at Sparks with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sparks's hand.

Turk throws a jab when Sparks was well out of range.
Turk circles away from the clinch attempt.

Sparks throws a combination that misses
and Turk counters with a nice uppercut.
Turk misses with a wild combination.
Turk wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Sparks uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Turk.
A punch combination from Turk misses.
Sparks scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Turk checks the leg kick nicely there.
Sparks misses with a series of wild punches.
Sparks tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Turk was well out of range. Poor timing from Sparks.
Sparks tries to land a leg kick but Turk saw it coming and moves away.

Sparks drops Turk with a nice combination! Sparks dives into Turk's guard, looking to finish!


Turk is rocked!
Turk is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sparks stands up over Turk, holding on to his feet. Sparks throws the legs to one side and dives in with a huge shot that lands flush on the chin! Turk is out cold! Sparks lands a couple more shots and the ref tackles him out of the way! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tony Sparks!
