Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Santos Borreco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Vieira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borreco kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is "Gladiator" by Common. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Santos Borreco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raul Vieira! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Borreco closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vieira makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vieira. Vieira escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Borreco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Borreco is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Vieira working a defensive guard but Borreco manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vieira is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Borreco's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Borreco is thwarting Vieira's attempts to control the position. Vieira slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Vieira looking to hit a scissor sweep but Borreco is one step ahead there. Vieira is trying to control the position but Borreco postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Vieira tries to land a sweep but no joy. Vieira is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Borreco drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vieira manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Borreco has Vieira in his guard. Vieira pushing down on Borreco's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vieira wants to pass to mount but Borreco is defending the position. Vieira with the ground and pound but Borreco uses the opportunity to regain guard. Borreco keeping moving, preventing Vieira from controlling successfully. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vieira's corner. There ya go! There ya go! That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Borreco keeping full guard, as Vieira tries to pass. Borreco looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Borreco is breathing heavily. Vieira throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Borreco works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Vieira pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Borreco is keeping the position for now. Vieira wants to control from the top but Borreco keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Borreco doesn't manage to clinch there - Vieira circles away.

Raul Vieira dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Vieira leaves Borreco with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Some wild striking there from Vieira.
Santos Borreco is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vieira decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Vieira is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Borreco is in trouble now - Vieira has advanced to mount!

Vieira content just to control the position here. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Vieira cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vieira tries to control but Borreco wriggling away. Vieira with shots to the head and body - Borreco looks very uncomfortable down there. Borreco slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Vieira not doing much here.

Borreco is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Vieira scores with a couple of nice shots. Vieira lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Borreco is in trouble now - Vieira has advanced to mount! Raul Vieira has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vieira is landing with some decent strikes but Borreco is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Vieira lands a big shot there that rocks Borreco but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Vieira tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Vieira working away from the top, dropping strikes. Vieira is in the full mount, landing strikes. Let's hope that Vieira has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Raul Vieira showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Despite being in the dominant position, Raul Vieira just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vieira misses with a takedown and Borreco counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vieira's guard now. Vieira is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vieira has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Vieira lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Vieira is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Borreco is surviving well by controlling Vieira's body position as best he can. Vieira is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Borreco has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Borreco! Borreco tries to free his leg and advance position but Vieira is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vieira manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Borreco manages to get himself to full guard.
Borreco being controlled here, momentarily. Vieira slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Vieira thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Borreco is looking to reverse the position. Vieira working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Vieira is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Borreco's shoulder. That is not cool. Vieira lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Borreco down.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vieira just content to control the position. Borreco tries to get back to half guard but can't. Borreco taking punishment in the form of punches.
And that's the end of the fight! Raul Vieira comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Vieira has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
