The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Omoplata sprawls well initially but Roman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Roman wants to pass the guard but Omoplata is defending well.
Roman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Omoplata on the ground.
Omoplata misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Roman tries to stand but can't do so whilst Omoplata controls his leg.

Omoplata looking for submissions off his back.
Roman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Roman is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Omoplata reverses the position - he's now on top in Roman's guard.

Omoplata stands up from Roman's guard - Omoplata perhaps looking for a knockout.

Omoplata looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Roman!

Omoplata is going olschool here, as he tries to force Roman to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Roman shrugs it off.
Omoplata thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Omoplata prevents Roman from getting the reversal.
Omoplata has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
