Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a straight right.
Cox throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Silva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Silva does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Cox has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.
Cox on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Silva jumps guard but Cox stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Cox throws a right and a left that Silva avoids nicely.
Silva walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Cox checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Cox blocks a head kick by Silva.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva fails with the takedown.
Cox moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Cox will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cox's guard.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
