Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Briscoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Foti Vasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Foti Vasa looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Briscoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Foti Vasa!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasa is looking to clinch but Briscoe is avoiding it.
Vasa shoots in for a takedown but Briscoe shows good takedown defense.
Vasa will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Briscoe dodges the punch combination from Vasa.
Briscoe tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Vasa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Vasa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Briscoe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vasa wanted to stand there but Briscoe had control of the position.
Vasa looks gassed!

Briscoe has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vasa off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vasa is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Briscoe closes the distance and pushes Vasa back into the cage.
Vasa can't break the clinch.
Vasa wants to break the clinch but can't.
Vasa goes for a takedown in the clinch but Briscoe prevents it.
Briscoe lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Briscoe turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Briscoe manages to end up in side control.
Briscoe is looking to take a break and control but Vasa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Vasa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Briscoe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Briscoe connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Vasa some visible discomfort.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Briscoe decides to stand back up.

Briscoe shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vasa napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Briscoe stands up and beckons Vasa to his feet.
Vasa wants to slow Briscoe down by chopping away at his legs.
Vasa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vasa works the jab nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vasa tries to clinch but Briscoe moves out of range.
A punch combination from Vasa misses.
Briscoe blocks a head kick by Vasa.
Vasa tries to bum rush Briscoe with a series of wild strikes but Briscoe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vasa throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vasa circles away from the clinch attempt

and Vasa holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Briscoe lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Foti Vasa has been cut.
Briscoe lands a hook to the side of the head.
Briscoe throws a punch but it's blocked by Vasa.

Vasa changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Briscoe fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Tom Briscoe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Foti Vasa.
Briscoe fails in his attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Briscoe dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Foti Vasa's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Briscoe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Vasa circles away from the clinch attempt.
Briscoe is looking to clinch.
Vasa goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Briscoe wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vasa keeps the fight on the outside.

Vasa rushes Briscoe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vasa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Briscoe pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Vasa is breathing heavily.
Briscoe lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Vasa backwards.
Briscoe lands a nice elbow.

Briscoe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Vasa tries to land a front kick but Briscoe steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Vasa throws a head kick that misses.
Briscoe tries to clinch there but Vasa circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Briscoe has a takedown stuffed.
Briscoe checks a low kick from Vasa.

Briscoe darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Briscoe slips a nice elbow through Vasa's hands, connecting with Vasa's forehead.

Briscoe has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Vasa defend it? Briscoe steps over the head and cranks it - Vasa is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Briscoe!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tom Briscoe!
