Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hammit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Coolpunch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coolpunch has chosen Man From Manila by Francis Magalona as his entrance music. Mark Hammit has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hammit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Coolpunch!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coolpunch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Coolpunch wants to pass the guard but Hammit is keeping the position.

Coolpunch is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Coolpunch wants to control from the top but Hammit keeps moving.
Hammit is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hammit looking for a sweep. Not yet Hammit, not yet.
Hammit keeping moving, preventing Coolpunch from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hammit shoots and misses

and Coolpunch moves into the clinch.

Coolpunch prevents a body shot from Hammit.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Coolpunch.

Hammit manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hammit is looking to stand up but Coolpunch isn't so interested in that idea.

Coolpunch thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Coolpunch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Coolpunch trying to control the position from guard on top but Hammit is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Coolpunch trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hammit circles away from the clinch attempt.
Coolpunch fails with the takedown

and Hammit counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hammit tries to free his leg and advance position but Coolpunch is retaining full guard.
Hammit is stalling in the full guard.
Hammit might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hammit passes Coolpunch's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Hammit looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammit seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Hammit is keen to just control but Coolpunch is a slippery customer.
Hammit tries to pass to full mount but Coolpunch defends it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hammit prevents Coolpunch from standing back up.

Hammit tries to stand but Coolpunch is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hammit doesn't manage to clinch there - Coolpunch circles away.
Hammit is looking to clinch but Coolpunch is avoiding it.
Coolpunch shoots and misses
and Hammit counters with an inside leg kick.
Hammit tries to clinch up.

and Coolpunch counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hammit won't be happy with that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Coolpunch cracks Hammit with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Coolpunch postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Hammit gets back to half guard.

Hammit manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Coolpunch gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hammit decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coolpunch's guard.
Mark Hammit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Coolpunch.
Hammit sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Coolpunch's guard.

Hammit wants to take a breather but Coolpunch is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Coolpunch closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Coolpunch keeps control of Hammit as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hammit wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Hammit is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Hammit tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Coolpunch just stands there and leans against the cage.

Coolpunch has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hammit is trying to keep an underhook but Coolpunch manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Coolpunch is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hammit is just riding it out for now. Coolpunch eventually gives up the hold.

Hammit wants to control but Coolpunch is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hammit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Coolpunch fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hammit, pushing him back against the cage.
Coolpunch lands an elbow inside.
Hammit tries to circle away but Coolpunch has him pinned against the cage.
Hammit is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Hammit lands an uppercut.
Hammit lands a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hammit stalling in the clinch.
Coolpunch drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hammit gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hammit has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Coolpunch keeps control of Hammit as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Coolpunch stalling against the cage.
Hammit misses with an elbow over the top.
Come on Hammit - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

The crowd are getting on Coolpunch's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hammit avoids the elbow strike from Coolpunch, against the cage.

Coolpunch pulls guard successfully.

Coolpunch looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hammit passes into half guard.
Coolpunch trying to control from the bottom.
Hammit seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Hammit working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Coolpunch pulls Hammit in close to his closed guard and prevents Hammit from doing any damage or advancing position.

Hammit avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Coolpunch looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

I would just about give that final round to Johnny Coolpunch.
I think Hammit has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
