The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smartstuff looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Titan is fending him off so far but Smartstuff persists. Nope, Titan circles away and we're back to standing.
Titan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Smartstuff.

It looks like Bumbling Smartstuff has been cut.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Titan wants to control but Smartstuff is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Titan unloads with some shots from mount but Smartstuff bucks and avoids them well.
Titan throws some wild stikes that Smartstuff manages to avoid easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Titan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Titan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smartstuff tries to avoid it but Titan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smartstuff to the ground. Smartstuff escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Smartstuff really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Titan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Smartstuff must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Smartstuff wants to get back to his feet but Titan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Titan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Titan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cris Titan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Titan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
