The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva keeps the fight on the outside.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hernandes tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hernandes to the ground. Hernandes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Hernandes.

Hernandes closes the distance and clinches.

Hernandes jumps guard and drags Silva to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hernandes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hernandes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hernandes!
Silva is trying to improve his position.
Hernandes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
Silva is looking for a sweep.
Hernandes advances nicely into full mount.

Silva can't escape the position.
Silva is working hard here to advance position.
Hernandes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Silva is looking to improve his position but Hernandes isn't that keen on the idea.
Hernandes mounts Silva! Really nice guard pass there!
Silva is squirming around, avoiding Hernandes's attempts to control the action.
Silva regains half guard.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hernandes pulls his head out easily.

Hernandes passes to full mount!
Silva stops Hernandes from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Hernandes is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Hernandes extends the arm and Silva is forced to tap!
