Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Duncan Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeromey Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Duncan Higgins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeromey Jackson!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jackson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Higgins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jackson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Higgins landing strikes.
Higgins is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jackson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Higgins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Higgins's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Duncan Higgins just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Higgins uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jackson.

Higgins has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.

Higgins lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Higgins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jackson's head.
Higgins content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Higgins is pressing down on Jackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackson is holding on for now.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Higgins has taken the fight to the clinch.

Higgins has hold of one of Jackson's legs. Jackson is fighting the takedown attempt but Higgins gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Higgins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Higgins looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Duncan Higgins just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Jackson throws a head kick but Higgins moves out of range.

Higgins fails in his attempt to clinch.

and Higgins counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Higgins is stalling in the full guard.
Higgins loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Higgins works over Jackson with some ground and pound from guard.

Higgins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Higgins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Higgins stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position.
Jackson is looking to stand back up but Higgins counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Jackson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duncan Higgins dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Higgins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Higgins instigates a clinch.

Higgins drags the fight down to the ground.
Higgins bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.
Higgins's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Higgins is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Higgins motions for Jackson to come forward. Higgins throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Higgins gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Higgins lands a nice knee to the body.

Higgins has clasped his hands together around Jackson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Higgins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
