Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ross Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Alkofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Pearson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Maximus Alkofer!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Alkofer with that takedown attempt.
Pearson is looking to clinch.
Alkofer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Alkofer wants to clinch.
Alkofer buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Pearson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alkofer sprawls well. Alkofer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pearson gets slowly back to his feet.
Alkofer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alkofer tries to clinch but Pearson moves away

so Pearson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pearson trying to control the position from guard on top but Alkofer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Pearson tries to stand but Alkofer is controlling from the bottom.
Pearson prevents Alkofer from getting back to his feet.

Alkofer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pearson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alkofer has his foot on Pearson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pearson works his way back into a safe position though.
Pearson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Alkofer is trying to keep Pearson in close.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Still in half guard, Pearson seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pearson decides to return to a standing position.

Pearson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Pearson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Alkofer is wriggling around trying to escape.
Pearson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Pearson takes Alkofer's back.
Alkofer trying to control the action but Pearson just sinks the hooks in.
Pearson biding his time, looking for the opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pearson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Alkofer tries to clinch but Pearson moves away

and Pearson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Alkofer's guard.
Pearson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Pearson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Alkofer for as long as he can get away with.
Pearson wants to control from the top but Alkofer keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pearson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alkofer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ross Pearson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and Alkofer counters with a nice uppercut.

and Pearson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pearson.

Pearson stands up and waves to Alkofer to follow him.
Pearson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Alkofer.
Pearson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alkofer was well out of range. Poor timing from Pearson.

Pearson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alkofer!
Pearson is landing with some decent strikes but Alkofer is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Alkofer wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Pearson missing with punches from the back.
Pearson throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Alkofer is really stuck here.
Pearson just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Pearson throwing wild punches that miss their target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ross Pearson dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Pearson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A head kick misses from Alkofer.

Pearson closes the distance and clinches.
Pearson is trying to break the clinch but Alkofer has him pressed against the cage.
Pearson has Alkofer pushed against the cage.
Pearson is trying to drag Alkofer to the mat but Alkofer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Alkofer fails to pull guard.
Alkofer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Alkofer.

Pearson tightens his grip and picks Alkofer up, before dumping him to the ground. Alkofer manages to land in guard.
Pearson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Alkofer striking off his back but it's not causing Pearson any problems.

Alkofer looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pearson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Alkofer is refusing to be controlled, as Pearson sits in half guard.
Alkofer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pearson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Pearson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
A head kick by Pearson misses
and Alkofer counters with a big head kick but Pearson shrugs it off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pearson blocks a head kick by Alkofer.

Pearson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Pearson passes Alkofer's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pearson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Pearson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Pearson has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Alkofer is forced to tap!
