PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Fenn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chilo Menga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Fenn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menga shoots in looking for a takedown. Fenn tries to sprawl out of it but Menga keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fenn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Menga shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A right-left combo lands from Fenn.
Menga is looking to land body kicks.
No joy there for Fenn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Menga keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A solid leg kick lands there for Fenn.
Menga misses with a takedown attempt
and Fenn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Menga drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here.
Fenn prevents Menga from improving position.

Menga swings around for an armbar but Fenn sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Menga's guard.
Menga is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Menga wants to sweep here but Fenn controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Menga has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Fenn is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Menga.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Menga sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

It looks like Fenn is going to stand back up.
Fenn is looking to take a break and control but Menga is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fenn lands a two punch combo.

and Fenn counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Menga!

Menga bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fenn's guard.

Menga postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Menga thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Menga swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Fenn pushes Menga off looking to stand but Menga dives back in and keeps control.

Menga is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fenn is just riding it out for now. Menga eventually gives up the hold.
Fenn wants to improve his position but Menga is controlling well.
Menga has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fenn slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Menga works his foot free and advances to mount.

Menga throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Fenn has his hands clasped together but Menga breaks the hold and Fenn is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Menga!
