PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Swing Sword (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukas Tesko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Swing Sword!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lukas Tesko!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tesko gets a takedown into half guard.
Sword is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Tesko's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Tesko's back!
Sword trying to control momentarily.
Tesko has hold of Sword's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts.
Even with his hooks in, Sword manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Tesko covering up well and avoiding damage.
You can see the frustration on Tesko's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Sword controlling the position well here. Tesko rolled but Sword kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Tesko turns into Sword and is now in his guard.

Tesko sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sword's guard.
Sword has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tesko is working away from the top position though.
Sword wants to improve his position but Tesko is controlling well.
Sword is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sword is looking to improve his position.
Tesko looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Tesko looks gassed!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sword tries to clinch but Tesko is having none of it.

Tesko feints and as Sword raises his hands in defense, Tesko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sword manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tesko manages to get himself to full guard.
Tesko is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Sword looking to sit in guard and control but Tesko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sword looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Sword trying to control the position.
Sword is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tesko is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Tesko won't allow Sword to sweep him here.
Sword lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tesko!
Sword throwing strikes here but Tesko is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sword trying to control but Tesko is having none of it.
Tesko is just holding on here. Sword manages to take his back.

Sword looking for the choke but no joy.
Tesko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sword trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Tesko doesn't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lukas Tesko dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Sword tries to clinch there but Tesko circles away.

Tesko takes the fight into the clinch.
Sword tries to land knees in the clinch but Tesko avoids the damage to the body.
Tesko tries to pull guard but Sword won't allow it.

Sword tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tesko smiles and moves away.

A battle for position here, against the cage.
Sword misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Tesko.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Tesko.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Tesko.
Sword unloads a knee to the mid-section. Tesko lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Sword using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Tesko has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Tesko breaks from the clinch.
Sword tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Tesko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sword is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tesko's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Tesko slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Sword trying to control the position.
Sword wants to sweep here but Tesko controlling him for the moment.
Sword is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Tesko darts in and clinches Sword up against the cage.
Sword using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Tesko blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Sword looking to throw knees to the head but Tesko is blocking nicely.
Sword crunches a lovely knee into Tesko's ribcage.
Sword tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Tesko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Tesko counters with a left and a right that stings Sword.

and Tesko counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Tesko content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Tesko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sword is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tesko pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lukas Tesko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Sword is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Tesko is aware though and is defending well.

Tesko slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Lukas Tesko has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tesko won't allow Sword to get back to his feet.
Sword keeping moving, preventing Tesko from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tesko lands a with a good body shot.
Swing Sword is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sword looks to clinch

and Tesko counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Tesko tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sword knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Sword wants to control but Tesko is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Tesko stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Swing Sword has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Tesko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Sword won't be happy with that.

Tesko decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sword wants to clinch

and Tesko counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sword wants to get back to his feet.
Sword is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sword might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tesko wants to get back to his feet.
Sword flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lukas Tesko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tesko has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
