The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez swinging wilding here.
Valdez misses with the combination.

Kichiro closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Valdez fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kichiro is out of range.

Valdez scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Valdez throws a series of punches but Kichiro avoids them all with ease.

Kichiro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Valdez as he jumps to the side.
Valdez throws a series of punches but Kichiro avoids them all with ease.

Valdez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kichiro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Valdez sprawls well. Valdez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kichiro gets slowly back to his feet.

Valdez lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Valdez.

Valdez lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Valdez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Francisco Valdez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kichiro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Valdez as he avoids it easily.
Kichiro takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Kichiro shoots for a double leg takedown but Valdez sprawls well. He's pushed Kichiro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheers as Valdez lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kichiro doesn't seem phased though.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Kichiro might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Valdez grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Kichiro takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Valdez cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
