Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hideo Nomo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nomo comes to the cage accompanied by Down Rodeo. Hideo Nomo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitchell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nomo to the mat! Nomo manages to get full guard.

Mitchell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nomo's head.

It looks like Hideo Nomo has been cut.
Mitchell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nomo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nomo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Nomo has hold of Mitchell's hands but Mitchell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Mitchell lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mitchell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mitchell is looking to take a break and control but Nomo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
