Bennington is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Machine Head. Mark Lewis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Gregory Bennington's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregory Bennington!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis stuffs the takedown attempt from Bennington. Bennington gets slowly back to his feet.
Lewis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bennington fails with a takedown attempt.
Lewis closes the distance and clinches up with Bennington, looking for a takedown. Lewis pushes Bennington against the cage but Bennington circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Lewis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bennington looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lewis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Lewis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bennington knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis lands a nice forearm strike.

Lewis working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bennington is pushing Lewis's head away, looking to escape. Lewis manages to hold on to the position though.

Bennington gets back to half guard.
Lewis wants to pass to mount but Bennington is defending the position.
Lewis is breathing heavily.
Bennington wants to control but Lewis is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Lewis is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Bennington as he works his way to full guard.

Bennington has his foot on Lewis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lewis works his way back into a safe position though.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bennington is on top in guard.

Lewis uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Bennington keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lewis.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Lewis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lewis misses with a series of wild punches.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lewis.
Bennington is looking for a sweep.

Lewis looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Lewis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bennington is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bennington gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Lewis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bennington's head.
Bennington slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Lewis is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lewis jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bennington manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Bennington is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Lewis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lewis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Bennington lands with a nice body kick.

Lewis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lewis lands in his opponent's guard.

Lewis won't allow Bennington to sweep him here.

Lewis drops back looking for a leg! Bennington is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bennington manages to kick Lewis off! Lewis jumps back into Bennington's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lewis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lewis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Bennington is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Bennington is breathing heavily.

Lewis is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bennington has escaped the position, nice work there.

Lewis lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Bennington down.
Bennington is looking for a sweep.
Bennington wants to control but Lewis postures up.

Lewis has hold of Bennington's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bennington tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Lewis cranks the arm and Bennington screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bennington, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Mark Lewis!
