Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Shurk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Eibner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shaun Shurk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brett Eibner!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shurk avoids the head kick by Eibner.
Eibner lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shurk circles away quickly and effectively.
Eibner avoids the head kick by Shurk.
Eibner bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Shurk's head.
Shurk lands a head kick. Eibner smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Eibner gets the takedown into side control.

Eibner tries for a kimura but Shurk is defending well.
Eibner throws an elbow but Shurk slips to the side and avoids it well.
Eibner misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Shurk manages to work his way to half guard, despite Eibner's best efforts.
Shurk desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Shurk wants to control but Eibner is keeping busy.

Shurk regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Eibner.
Eibner throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Shurk has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Eibner trying to control the position from guard on top but Shurk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shurk avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Eibner decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Shurk tries a head kick but it misses.
Shurk throws a sloppy head kick

and Eibner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Eibner working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Shurk's head.
Eibner wants to control from the top but Shurk keeps moving.
Eibner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shurk's head.

Shurk is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shurk is breathing heavily.
Eibner scoring with punches to the head and body.
Eibner trying to control but Shurk is working from the bottom.
Eibner with a flurry of punches that miss.
Eibner throws and elbow that misses. Shurk uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Eibner's guard. Nice move by Shurk!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Eibner is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shurk is aware though and is defending well.
Eibner tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Shurk trying to control but Eibner is working from the bottom.
Eibner wants to get back to his feet but Shurk passes into half guard.
Shurk scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Eibner wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Eibner stuffs the takedown.

Eibner changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shurk looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Eibner tries to score with some ground and pound. Shurk controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Eibner throwing strikes but Shurk manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Eibner takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Eibner wants to get back to his feet but Shurk drags him back down.
Shurk creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Eibner is breathing heavily.
Shurk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Eibner keeps working.

Shurk moves into full mount!
Eibner tries to reverse the position but Shurk maintains control.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Shurk cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Eibner is trying desperately to improve position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Eibner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Eibner is looking to improve his position but Shurk isn't that keen on the idea.
Shurk controlling the position easily from mount.
Eibner is looking to get to half guard.
Shurk postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Eibner looks a forlorn figure.

Eibner is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Brett Eibner has got the better of the ground game so far.
Shurk trying to control but Eibner is having none of it.
Eibner can't escape the position.
Shurk can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Eibner is looking to escape.
Eibner tries to get back to half guard but can't.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Shurk looking for a guillotine from mount but Eibner is having none of it.

Shurk is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Eibner is surviving well by controlling Shurk's body position as best he can.
Shurk looking to control but Eibner is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Eibner tries to hold on but Shurk pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shurk prevents Eibner from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shaun Shurk will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Shurk scores with a kick to the midsection.

Eibner has managed to clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Shurk.
Shurk presses Eibner against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Nice body punch from Shurk - that landed with a thud.
Eibner tries to pull guard but Shurk won't allow it.
Shurk misses with a hook to the ribs.
Eibner has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shurk avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Eibner swings wildly with an uppercut but Shurk uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shurk stops a takedown attempt from Eibner.
Shaun Shurk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brett Eibner.
Eibner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Shurk misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Eibner.

Eibner goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Shurk lands a nice uppercut.

Eibner drags the fight down to the ground.
Eibner keeping moving, preventing Shurk from controlling successfully.
Shurk passes Eibner's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Shurk prevents Eibner from improving his position.
Shurk stalling.
Shurk trying to control from half guard but Eibner is working away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Eibner wants to control but Shurk is keeping busy.
Eibner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Eibner.
Eibner has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Shurk has passed into side control.
Eibner tries to buck Shurk off but Shurk is having none of it.
Shurk wants to control for a moment but Eibner uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Eibner wants to free his trapped foot but Shurk is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Eibner thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Shurk to regain full guard.
Eibner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Eibner throws a strike but Shurk rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Eibner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shurk's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Shurk is pulling down on Eibner's head. It's preventing any offense from Eibner, at least for the moment.
Shurk looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Eibner decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shurk, up you get!
Eibner moves away from the strike by Shurk.
Shurk throws a head kick that misses.
Eibner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Shurk as he jumps to the side.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Eibner throws a looping overhand right but Shurk ducks down to avoid it.
Eibner avoids the head kick by Shurk.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Shaun Shurk.
I think Shurk has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
