PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikael Sadman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg VanWinkle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sadman comes into the arena with Metal is the Law - Massacration blaring out of the sound system. VanWinkle has chosen Motorhead - Smiling Like A Killer as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sadman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
VanWinkle is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sadman has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Sadman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but VanWinkle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
VanWinkle prevents Sadman from moving into mount.
VanWinkle is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sadman is controlling him well.
Sadman wants to control but VanWinkle is keeping him busy.

Sadman tries for a kimura but VanWinkle is defending well.

It looks like Mikael Sadman has been cut.
Greg VanWinkle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sadman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sadman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with VanWinkle but VanWinkle pushes him off and we're back to square one.

VanWinkle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikael Sadman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
VanWinkle stalks Sadman and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sadman's face. Sadman staggers backwards, shaken.
VanWinkle connects with a nice cross there... Sadman is looking wobbly and VanWinkle recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Sadman to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - VanWinkle jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
