Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Plant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch up but Plant circles away and keeps his distance.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silva.
Plant is trying to improve his position.
Plant is not content to let Silva control the position.
Plant prevents Silva from moving into mount.

Plant sneaks out the side door and pushes Silva away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Both fighters circling a little - Silva finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Silva tries to clinch but Plant is having none of it.

and Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Plant's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Plant pulls Silva in to control the position.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Plant swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.

Silva throws a looping overhand right but Plant ducks down to avoid it.
Silva throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Plant but Plant pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Plant doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Plant had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Silva is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Plant Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Silva's back instead.
Plant is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Will Plant go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Well, with Plant on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Silva is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Plant is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Silva has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Plant has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Silva taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Plant doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Robert Plant!
