PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mohamed Atta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Brown's choice of entrance music: Crystal Fighters 'Xtatic Truth' (Last Japan Remix). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atta shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brown pinned against the cage. Brown gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Atta shoots for a double leg takedown but Brown sprawls well. He's pushed Atta's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Brown slaps away a takedown attempt from Atta, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohamed Atta. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Brown closes the distance and clinches.

Brown manages to break the clinch.
Brown rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Atta moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Atta tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brown swivels and escapes.
Atta fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Brown tries a head kick but it misses.
Atta shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Brown as he jumps to the side.
Atta is breathing heavily.
Brown looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Horrible takedown by Atta or perhaps it was just good defense by Brown which made him look bad.
Daniel Brown is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Atta looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brown is fending him off so far but Atta persists. Nope, Brown circles away and we're back to standing.

Brown bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Atta changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brown fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Brown's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Brown lands a left and a right that send Atta crashing to the mat, dazed. Brown thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Atta is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Atta crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
