Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Swift (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Swift!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Slice!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slice scores a takedown into full mount!
Swift wants to hold on but Slice pushes him away.
Slice looking to control and managing it successfully.

Slice get's back to his feet.
Swift tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Slice scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Slice looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Swift trying to control from the bottom.
Slice keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Slice prevents Swift from standing back up.
Swift is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Swift moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Swift tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Slice tries to free his leg and advance position but Swift is retaining full guard.

Swift looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Slice showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slice wants to get up but he can't break Swift's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Slice stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swift swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Slice not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Swift trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Slice throws a nice looking combination but Swift bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Ken Slice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Swift throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Slice was covering up waiting for the punch and Swift finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Slice scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Slice looks gassed!
Slice is trying hard to land a takedown here. Swift sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Swift throws and low kick but Slice moves out of range easily.
No joy there for Slice, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Slice slips a jab and a cross from Swift.
Swift moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Swift tries a head kick but it misses.
Nice cross by Swift.

Swift drives through and clinches with Slice against the cage.

Swift manages to break the clinch.

Slice fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Swift avoids it really well and circles away.
Slice misses with a body shot.
Swift scores with a hook.

Swift has taken the fight to the clinch.

Swift pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Slice tries for a takedown but Swift circles away easily

and Swift counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Swift.
Chuck Swift has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Slice.

Swift lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Slice avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Slice is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Swift defends well.

Swift wants to control from the top but Slice keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Swift thows a big elbow that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Slice moves away from the strike by Swift.
Slice misses with a wild body shot.
Swift thuds his right hand into Slice's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Swift dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


A left and a right from Swift both land. Nice combination.
Chuck Swift is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A lazy left from Swift finds it's target.
Slice slaps away a takedown attempt from Swift, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Slice avoids a punch combination nicely.
Slice throws a left and a right that both miss

and Swift counters with a series of strikes that sends Slice to the canvas! Swift follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Swift keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Slice's head.
Swift trying to control the position from guard on top but Slice is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Slice manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Swift manages to get himself to full guard.

Swift lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Slice!

Swift looking to control but Slice is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Swift pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Swift will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Slice tries to lock up and control but Swift gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Slice is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Swift cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Chuck Swift overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Swift is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Slice is surviving well by controlling Swift's body position as best he can.
Slice is looking to improve his position but Swift isn't that keen on the idea.
Slice wants to control but Swift is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Swift with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Swift tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Slice will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Swift with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Slice to score with a decent uppercut.
Swift punishes Slice's body with a nice straight punch.
Swift changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slice tries to avoid it but Swift manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slice to the ground. Slice escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Swift tests Slice's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Slice moves out of range as Swift throws a body kick.
Slice slips under a jab.
Slice swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Swift counter with a right hand.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Slice moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Swift scores with a body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Slice throws a front kick aimed at Swift's knee but Swift avoids it well.
Swift comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Swift is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Slice can do to turn this around?

Slice takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Swift lands a glancing blow to the side of Slice's head.
Swift is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Slice on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Swift throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Swift cracks the inside of Slice's front leg.
Swift throws a nice looking combination but Slice bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Slice takes one to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Swift fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Slice manages to avoid it.
Slice avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Slice throws a body punch but Swift moves out of range.

Slice wants to improve his position but Swift is controlling well.
Swift takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Swift is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Slice is just riding it out for now. Swift eventually gives up the hold.
Swift tries to pass the half guard into mount. Slice knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Slice is trying to maintain the position but Swift is very close to passing his half guard.
Slice is staying active underneath Swift, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Swift wants to free his trapped foot but Slice is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Slice makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Swift shoots in and drives through. Slice sprawls well.

Slice had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Swift defends it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Slice is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Well Swift has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
