Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregor Vandenhoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waqas Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vandenhoff's entrance music is Du Hast. A fine choice. Malik is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Final Countdown. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malik changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vandenhoff tries to avoid it but Malik manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vandenhoff to the ground. Vandenhoff escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vandenhoff scores with a nice head shot.
Malik moves in looking to clinch but Vandenhoff pushes him off.
Vandenhoff tries to bum rush Malik with a series of wild strikes but Malik uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Malik fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Malik tries to pull guard but Vandenhoff won't allow it.
Gregor Vandenhoff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Waqas Malik.

Malik has Vandenhoff pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Vandenhoff manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Vandenhoff lands a nice short elbow.
Vandenhoff thows a huge punch but Malik dodges it nicely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Malik dives in and grabs Vandenhoff's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vandenhoff pushes down on Malik's head and hops out.

Vandenhoff moves into range and clinches up with Malik.

Vandenhoff breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Malik connects with a high kick.
Malik pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Donk. Vandenhoff catches Malik right on the button with a cross.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Malik is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Malik wants to stand up but Vandenhoff has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Malik is keen to just control but Vandenhoff is a slippery customer.

Malik is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Malik stops Vandenhoff from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Malik throws a strike but Vandenhoff avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Vandenhoff on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vandenhoff tries to get out of the position.

Malik has gone for a leg lock! Vandenhoff slips out almost immediately though and dives into Malik's guard.

Malik looking for a triangle here. Vandenhoff is fighting it but it looks tight! Malik pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Vandenhoff is tapping out - this one is all over!
