Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob McCaig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chay Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. As I Lay Dying - Through Struggle kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chay Willis!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCaig ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Willis moves away.
Willis throws a series of punches but McCaig moves out of range.
A slow jab from McCaig misses its intended target.
Willis connects with a looping right hand.
Willis lands a right hook to the body.
Willis throws a hook but McCaig blocks it.
McCaig looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Willis throws a sloppy body shot
and McCaig counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
McCaig slips a straight right by Willis.
McCaig slips under a jab.
McCaig tries to bum rush Willis with a series of wild strikes but Willis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Chay Willis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Willis misses with a body punch
and McCaig counters with a right hand to the body.

McCaig walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

The crowd cheers as Willis lands an impressive looking overhand right. McCaig doesn't seem phased though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCaig displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Willis throws out the jab.

McCaig falls off balance throwing a combination
letting Willis counter with a right hand.
Willis lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Willis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McCaig throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Willis counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Willis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McCaig.
Willis swings for the body but McCaig moves out of range.

McCaig looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Willis!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are battling for position here. Willis manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Willis holds on and takes a little breather.
Willis wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McCaig throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Willis wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McCaig accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McCaig won't allow Willis to sweep him here.
McCaig has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McCaig throws a strike but Willis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chay Willis dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

McCaig is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Willis defends well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Willis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McCaig.
Willis loads up on a big right hand but McCaig slips the punch.

and McCaig connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
McCaig is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Rob McCaig is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McCaig fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Willis has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by McCaig.

McCaig throws a solid leg kick but Willis takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McCaig.

Willis lands a straight punch to the body, keeping McCaig at a distance.
Willis misses with a looping right.
Willis tests McCaig's chin there with a solid looking shot.
McCaig closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
McCaig slips a straight right by Willis.
Willis fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches McCaig on the side of the head.
McCaig avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Willis ducks under a wild hook from McCaig.
McCaig shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Willis to counter with a crisp jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chay Willis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Willis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Willis scores with the left hand. McCaig knows he should have avoided that one.
Willis throws a hook but McCaig blocks it.

and McCaig counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Willis's guard now.
Willis is trying to keep McCaig in close.
Willis bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McCaig's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Willis pushes down on McCaig's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Willis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

McCaig is looking for a sweep. Willis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Willis tries to pass to full mount but McCaig defends it.
Willis is trying to control the action in half guard but McCaig is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
McCaig regains full guard. Nicely done.

Willis looking to improve position, pressing down on McCaig's thigh with his hand. McCaig seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Willis paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Willis's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! McCaig picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
