Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JimBob Johnsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Richer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathan Richer has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, JimBob Johnsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonathan Richer !
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnsson on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Johnsson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Richer moves into the clinch.

Richer wants to get back to his feet but Johnsson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Johnsson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Johnsson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Richer wants to stand and escape but Johnsson is having none of it.
Richer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnsson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnsson is looking to work some ground and pound but Richer has wrist control.

Richer is pressed up against the cage. Johnsson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Richer down to the mat. Richer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Richer seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnsson wants to control but Richer is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Johnsson is pressing down on Richer 's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Richer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Richer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Richer counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Richer .

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jonathan Richer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Richer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
