Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Blaze Cies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greco Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Blaze Cies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Greco Guy!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cies lands a body shot.
Cies looks for a takedown but Guy sprawls well.
Cies fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Guy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cies fails to land with a series of punches.

Guy gets a takedown into half guard.

Cies looking for submissions off his back.

Guy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cies sees it coming and defends easily.
Guy is controlling the pace.
Cies is trying to maintain the position but Guy is very close to passing his half guard.

Cies is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Guy pulls his head out easily.

Cies looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Guy not doing much here.
Cies wants to get back to full guard.
Cies is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Guy checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Guy misses with a double jab
and Cies counters with a one-two to the body.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Guy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cies manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Cies is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Guy defends well.
Guy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Let's hope that Guy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Guy tries to stand but Cies is controlling from the bottom.
Guy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Guy in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Guy controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Cies will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Guy tries to free his leg and advance position but Cies is retaining full guard.
Guy is stalling in the full guard.

Guy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cies dives on top into guard.
Guy manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Guy throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Cies gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Guy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guy pushes down on Cies's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Guy trying to control from half guard but Cies is working away.

Despite being in the dominant position, Greco Guy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cies misses with a low kick.
Cies has his takedown stuffed

and Guy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cies's guard now.

Guy gets to his feet. Cies looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Guy drives through with a takedown into guard.
Guy wants to stand but Cies is controlling his posture from full guard.
Guy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Guy with a flurry of punches that miss.

Guy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Guy postures up in Cies's guard and throws a big left but Cies blocks it.

Cies is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cies avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Guy's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Guy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Guy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cies sprawls well initially but Guy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Guy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Greco Guy has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cies wants to control but Guy is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cies is trying to control but Guy passes into side control!
You can see the frustration on Cies's face as Guy controls the position.

Guy decides to stand back up. Guy steps back and let's Cies get back to his feet.

Guy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Guy misses with an elbow strike.

Guy decides to pull guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Guy wants to stand but Cies is controlling the position.
Guy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cies!
Guy content just to control the position here.
Guy throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Guy sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Guy misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Cies blocking the ground and pound.
Guy content just to control the position here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Greco Guy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Guy is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Cies has managed to free his arm - good work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Guy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Guy stands up and beckons Cies to his feet.

Guy feints and as Cies raises his hands in defense, Guy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Guy slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Guy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Guy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cies swivels though and keeps the full guard.
