Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shooter McGavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liu Kang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kang has chosen Mortal kombat theme as his entrance music. Liu Kang has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shooter McGavin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Liu Kang!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kang shoots in but no luck this time.
Kang fails to land the takedown.
Liu Kang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kang blocks a head kick by McGavin.
A head kick misses from McGavin.

Kang feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kang wants to control from the top but McGavin keeps moving.
McGavin tries to strike from the bottom.
Kang preventing the sweep.
Kang slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
McGavin controls Kang momentarily but Kang frees himself.

Kang stays in close to McGavin's body and controls the position.
Kang is looking to advance position but McGavin has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
McGavin trying to control but he's not successful this time.
McGavin is really struggling to control Kang but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Kang tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McGavin looking to control but Kang is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kang tries to reverse the position but McGavin maintains control.
McGavin seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Kang is holding on tight.
Kang tries to hold on but McGavin pushes him away.
Kang bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
McGavin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kang looking to pass the guard.
McGavin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kang manages to get himself to full guard.

Kang looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kang bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McGavin's guard.
Kang is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Kang must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
McGavin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGavin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kang controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kang looks gassed!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kang is looking to advance position but McGavin has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Kang tries to hold on but McGavin pushes him away.
McGavin throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Kang because McGavin loaded up on that one.

McGavin working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Kang looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by McGavin! Submission of the night perhaps?
