The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Irvin shoots in and bounces Preston off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Preston not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Irvin seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Preston for as long as he can get away with.

Preston is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Irvin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Irvin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Irvin is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Preston will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
