Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dominique Samson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tjerk Hamer!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hamer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Samson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Samson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Samson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hamer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Samson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hamer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Samson but great work by Hamer.
Samson is breathing heavily.
Hamer misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Samson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Hamer is looking to take a break and control but Samson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hamer is tying to control. Samson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hamer working over Samson with some ground and pound. Samson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hamer wants to pass the guard but Samson is defending well.
Samson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hamer postures up in Samson's guard and throws a big left but Samson blocks it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Samson has a closed guard, preventing Hamer from standing up.
Hamer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Samson is looking for a triangle but Hamer pushes his legs off easily.

Hamer wants to stand but Samson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hamer wants to pass the guard but Samson is keeping the position.
Hamer lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hamer throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Samson tries for a takedown but Hamer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominique Samson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hamer wants to clinch up but Samson keeps it at a distance.

Hamer loads up on a big right hand but Samson slips the punch.
Samson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hamer but Hamer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Samson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hamer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Samson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Samson sneaks back into half guard.
Samson moves into full guard.

Samson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hamer throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Samson's body to avoid the submission. Samson has instead reached around Hamer's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Samson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
