Szyslak comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica-Enter Sandman. Hanz Stokenhizer has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nick Szyslak's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Szyslak does no damage.
Szyslak throws a right hand that Stokenhizer ducks under and follows up with a left that Stokenhizer also avoids with ease.
Szyslak throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Szyslak jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Szyslak fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Stokenhizer is out of range.

No joy there for Szyslak, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Szyslak is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stokenhizer.

Szyslak throws a lazy right hand but Stokenhizer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Stokenhizer is trying to control the action in half guard but Szyslak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Stokenhizer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Szyslak's head.
Szyslak tries to kick Stokenhizer off but Stokenhizer keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Stokenhizer seems to be working for a kimura but Szyslak defends the submission attempt.
Stokenhizer is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Szyslak as he works his way to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stokenhizer has gone for a leg lock! Szyslak slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stokenhizer's guard.
Stokenhizer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Szyslak defends well.

That was a close round but I would say that Nick Szyslak will probably get the nod.

Stokenhizer has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Szyslak looks to land a right hand but Stokenhizer moved out of range.
